President’s Report
Aloha! Greetings from Honolulu. I am unable to be at the next walk from Bronte to Bondi. Just about to do the Diamond Head hike instead, with sweeping views of the island and Waikiki Beach. The scenery is lovely, the temperature warm, but otherwise it is windy and cloudy.
It was great to catch up in Hobart at the Yacht Club in Sandy Point. Terrific food, company and great location. Many thanks to Hobart-Macquarie Probus Club. Do hope that the rest of the trip went well.
Tasmania Trip. The voyagers to Tasmania had a most enjoyable time. Starting with a visit to Wicked Cheese where the produce was so wicked we bought some, we visited Richmond and MONA and all played a part in a Chicago era murder mystery dinner at Tarraleah. We loved the natural beauty of Strahan where we enjoyed a cruise up the Gordon River and visited Sarah Island, an old convict settlement. We laughed hilariously at the play The Ship That Never Was where some of us unexpectedly became part of the cast. The Apt railway took us back to earlier times as we travelled back to Queenstown. We enjoyed the rich agricultural scenery of the Northwest coast and visited a magnificent rhododendron garden in Burnie. Probian fellowship was enjoyed as we dined with local Probus clubs in Hobart and Burnie. A great trip!
