President’s Report 15 May 2012

A warm welcome to you all.
Our last meeting was entertained by Brendon Walsh and his Irish humour and warmth. I
for one really enjoyed it.
Our April outing was a cruise on the Macquarie Princess on the Hawkesbury River on a
picture perfect Sydney autumn day. Just delightful. We were amazingly fortunate to avoid
the massive storm–-it struck just before our landing and from the news reports it was
much less severe by that time at Berowra Waters. Many thanks to Valerie for finding this
gem and a nice note on which to end her duties.
The May outing is still looking for particpants–-a trip to the Blue Mountains to Woodford
Academy, a National Trust site. Hopefully, we will be in time for at least some of the
autumn foliage. Also please remember, that if an outing is not fully subscribed by club
members, then guests are very welcome to participate.
Another lovely day saw the walkers enjoying the coast from South Curl Curl to Manly, and
the ferry ride is always the perfect way to travel.

Looking forward: Next February will be our Club’s 30th anniversary! It has been suggested
that we create an addendum to our 20th Anniversary History booklet, covering our third
decade from 2003 to 2012. I am looking for some volunteers to help with this project. If
you would be willing to participate, could you please let me know.

Membership report: The Club membership decreases to 57 today with the resignation
of Robyn M. The memberships consists of 22 men and 35 women.

May Birthdays:  Jean S 10, John N 22.

the grounds and buildings, and hear about the fascinating history covering the past
