NEWSLETTER No. 259 March 19, 2013
President’s Report 19 March 2013

Good morning to everyone and a warm welcome to our visitors today. It is
hard to believe that this is my last newsletter as your President! I can’t
believe how quickly the year has passed and I want you all to know how much
I have enjoyed it. Today is our AGM and also the 30th Anniversary of our Club!

Our speaker last month, Andrea Williams, gave us an abbreviated but
nonetheless interesting talk on the men of Rabaul in WWII who were taken
away by the Japanese and lost their lives on the Montevideo Maru. Some of us
stayed after the meeting to hear more about this historical event and to peruse
Andrea’s exhibits which were fascinating.

We had a very successful outing last month to Robertson and Carrington Falls–
which were massive with all the water received in the area lately.

The walking group has started again for the year and I look forward to joining
them soon.

Next month we are going to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of our Club with a
buffet lunch in lieu of an outing on April 23rd. This is going to be held at The
Harbour View Hotel in North Sydney (above the station). 12:00 for 12:30. The
cost will be $45 pp and includes a glass of wine. There is a sign up sheet at
the outings table this morning, so please put your name down and pay as soon
as possible. Guests and friends are very welcome and the committee look
forward to seeing as many of you as possible.
