PRESIDENTS REPORT 19th APRIL 2011
A very warm welcomes all members and guests.
Firstly I would like to thank you for electing me to the position of President, I hope that I will be able to live up to the high standards of previous Presidents. I would also like to thank Oriel T and last year’s committee for their hard work in achieving another successful year.
The speaker after the AGM was Bob M who gave us a most interesting talk on his life in Papua New Guinea, which took place before the end of the colonial era and outlined a life which has since gone.
The major excursion to Albury and surrounding area was an outstanding success. Thank you Valerie for all your hard work.
Here are some photos of the trip
The art exhibition at the AGM was again most successful and enjoyed by all our members. Thank you Gwen and Peter MacD for organising it.
Due to the date for Easter this year coming in late April the committee have decided that there will be no outing this month, but Valerie has organised a most interesting visit to Kurrajong Radio Museum. It sounds interesting with lots to see and do - hands on activity plus a talk. The visit is expected to take two hours and we will then go onto the Panthers for lunch.
Oriel having just completed a very good year as president is organising our walks this year and the first will be to South Head details will be in the main bulletin.
Nigel has been doing wonders with our web site and if anyone is interest the address is:- http://www.probusnorthsydney.org/if I got it wrong you can Google it by seeking North Sydney Probus.
I am afraid it is time of the year your subscription should be renewed, the good news is that it is the same as we have paid for the last five years, namely $30. If any member cannot come please give an apology to your carer so he can send you a copy of the Newsletter.
