President’s Report 16 July 2013
Good morning, everyone, and a special welcome to our
visitors, to our July meeting.
I have been away for six weeks, and so missed the June
meeting, but I understand our speaker, Michael Adams, gave a most interesting
talk about his experiences over a great many years in Vietnam. Building on his function as an educator, he
was able to launch a successful cultural exchange programme, and will soon lead
an in-depth tour of the country.
The outing to Botany Bay was very enjoyable, and the St.
George Motor Boat Club is always a fine venue for lunch. Please note that the bus for next week’s visit
to the Jewish Museum has been cancelled, and we will now meet at 10 am at the
bus stop in Liverpool Street at Museum Station.
Many of you will be aware that Jill K has been in
hospital, but I am pleased to advise that she is recovering well, and we wish
her all the best and hope to see her again soon.
Membership report:
Joan C has been confined to the Nursing Home in James Milson
Village and will not be returning to Probus.
This leaves the Membership numbers at 54, (21 men and 33 women). The North Sydney Council has posted 70 flyers
on their Community Noticeboards on behalf of our club. These flyers will be up for 8 weeks.
July Birthdays: Jeanne E 02,
Talia W 07, Colin W 08, Oriel T 12, George T 13,
Jill K 20, Ann G 26.

July 30th at 7 pm, at the Thai restaurant “Simple and Irresistible”, 283
Miller St., Nth Sydney, Tel: 9929-6696.
