Spring has sprung, the weather is starting to warm up. The jasmine is blooming and the air has a beautiful perfume to it. Apologies to the allergic people who will not be able to enjoy it as I do!
Welcome to today’s meeting. This is my last for the present as Maurice returns to
Australia at the end of this month and thus will be in the chair again from next month,
“getting back into the fun of it!” I hope I’ve not been too hard to cope with while I’ve been going through the learning process, and I wish to thank my fellow committee members who have made the experience quite pleasurable. Also to the membership in general who have supported me so well!
This morning we will hear from Tim Young, of the Crime Prevention Unit, discussing E-Watch.
The Tulip Festival in Bowral, which is our outing this month, is something to look forward to, so I hope the bus will be full. I will miss it again this year as I will be off on the Hunters Hill Rotary Safari.
There remain vacancies for the Armidale trip next month. Please talk to trip organiser Valerie if you would like more information before joining the group.
At our committee meeting this month, Clive was nominated to stand for the
Probus South Pacific Limited selection committee. Could herald interesting times for Clive if he is elected.
The minutes of the Probus South Pacific Limited Reform Group were received by the committee this month. They are worth a read and will be brought up and tabled today.

We continue on to Cooper Park, passing a monument erected for Raoul Wallenberg, a Swedish diplomat who saved thousands of Jewish lives during World War 2. Our coffee ‘fix’ will be available at a cafe in the park before we explore the pretty little park which has water features and hand-made caves which were funded by the State Government during the depression to keep the unemployed in work. From Cooper Park we continue walking through playing fields to Double Bay. Walk approximately 4/5 klms. Fairly easy, some steps mainly down, and small hills. Lunch at Double Bay Sailing Club or alternatively a cafe in Double Bay. MEET: At 9:30 am Circular Quay stand E (near Wharf 2) for the 380 Bus at 9:37 am.
