President’s Report November 2015

This is the last of my newsletters for 2015 and our last general meeting for this year.  Next month we will meet on Tuesday,15th December for our Christmas Lunch and at our meeting today we need to finalize attendance details.  Make a note in your diary that our first meeting in 2016 will be on the 19th of January.

The year seems to have flown by and the March 2016 AGM is just around the corner!  Have you thought about your contribution to the running of this club by standing for a committee position at the AGM?

The trip to the HARS (Historical Aircraft Restoration Society) Museum at Albion Park was well attended, with everyone enjoying the experience.  For those who missed the visit, the museum does open regularly for visitors.  Next week we will visit the lovely Japanese Garden at East Gosford,  with lunch at the Gosford Sailing Club by the water.

Here at Northbridge, a new arrangement for lunch has been requested by Doreen and her team:  Please be seated at your table and your order will be taken (instead of standing in line and ordering at the bar).

For those of you not coming to our Christmas Lunch, may I wish you and your families a Very Happy Christmas and Great Happy and Healthy 2016!

MEET:  at Wharf 4 (check board, sometimes from Wharf 2) Circular Quay at 9:15 am ferry to Cremorne Point.

Probus Outings:
Tuesday 24th November:  Money is due for this outing, our last for this year.  We are visiting the Edogawa Commemorative Garden and Art Gallery in East Gosford.  This is a beautifully presented, easy-to-walk, Japanese Garden.  There is also a smart art gallery to check out.  Lunch will be at the Gosford Sailing Club by the water.  There are limited spaces left on the bus, come along and enjoy the day! Cost: $30.  Bus leaves at 9:00 am.

Tuesday 15th December.  Christmas Lunch at the Cammeray Golf Club 12:00pm..  Today, please advise choice of meal (Turkey or Pork), choice of dessert (Plum Pudding or Crème Brulee), and choice of drink with meal (red wine, white wine or soft drink).  There will be a choice of one drink on arrival.  $70 for members, and $75 for guests (all welcome).

A Request from Our Treasurer, Susan M :
Can you help please?  I collect postage stamps!
I would be grateful if you could save your used stamps and bring them to our Probus meetings.
You can either leave the stamp on the envelope or cut it off, leaving a good border around the stamp so as not to damage the precious perforations. Many thanks.

Note: All our Probus meetings are generally held on the third Tuesday of every month. The next meeting will be held on 19 January 2016. The committee meetings are conducted in the Northbridge Golf Club, usually on the first Tuesday of the month. Members are welcome to observe.
