Welcome to 2016 and a Happy, Healthy and Wise New Year! Take care of yourselves, and do your best to avoid falls please! Try to be mindful at all times of how you are moving.
I do hope you had a great break, and enjoyed the Festive Season as much as I did. Our Christmas Dinner was enjoyed by all, and special thanks must go to Ian S and Clive W for providing the entertainment, to Lis T for her great organizational skills in making it all happen, and to Marie and Eleanor for organizing the lucky door prizes with much humor!
We look forward to another year of great outings, walks and speakers–many thanks to those on the committee who continue to organize these events.
A timely reminder about our AGM in March. Please think about how you might like to contribute.
Today we will be looking to see who might be interested in a trip to Tasmania later in the year. Interest has been expressed in visiting MONA, the Museum of Old and New Art, and other special places in Tasmania.
Marie has some splendid outings planned for the year, Oriel will once again find lovely walks for us each month, and Douglas continues to find wonderful speakers to entertain and educate us. So I trust you will join me in looking forward to another year of enjoying each other’s company.

Probus Outings: Tuesday 23rd February: Names and money taken today for this outing to the Penrith Museum of Printing in Penrith. We will have a short talk before a demonstration of the operating of the printing presses. The presses and equipment date from the 1860s to the 1970s. This will be a very interesting outing, just to see these large printing presses of yesteryear in action. Cost of entry to the museum is $3.00, paid on the day. Lunch will be at the nearby Paceway Club. Cost $30.00. Bus leaves at 9:00 am.
Tuesday 22nd March: Names and money taken today for this outing, which is a cruise of the Seven Islands of the Hawkesbury River. We catch the 9:22 am train from Hornsby Station to Hawkesbury River Station at Brooklyn. There is a short walk to Kangaroo Point Wharf where we board our cruise ferry for the 3-hour cruise, leaving at 10:30 am. We will see the Seven Islands–Lion, Danger, Spectacle, Long, Peat, Milson and Bar–and also a close-up view of Aboriginal rock carvings at Eagle Rock near Brooklyn. The cruise includes a fantastic fish-n-chips lunch served on board. Cost for Seniors is $44.00. We need 20 passengers minimum, so please ask friends/relatives to come along for a great day out!
