President’s Report  21 June 2016
Congratulations to Beth Cliffe on achieving her 100th birthday on 16th June.  Well done Beth!

Our last outing, to the Tobruk Sheep Station near Wiseman’s Ferry, was an amazing experience with whip cracking, boomerang throwing, sheep shearing and the clever dogs mustering the sheep.  A short side trip down to the Ferry was lovely.  Our next outing is to the Tramway Museum at Loftus.

Last week’s walk from Stanmore to the Sydney Fish Markets at Pyrmont was great.  The walk took us past the White Creek wetlands and through lovely parklands beside Black Wattle Bay.  The next walk is from Circular Quay to Rushcutters Bay.

The May luncheon was held at La Bouchon in Crows Nest.  As the French would say,
“tres bien.”

Our speaker today is Alison O’Carroll, a registered psychologist, who will talk about healthy ageing.
A polite reminder for those who have not paid the annual subscription to the Northbridge Golf Club, that payment is due today.

Program of Activities
Guest speaker:  Today we welcome Alison O’Carroll, a registered psychologist, who will talk to us about healthy ageing.

Probus Walkers:  Tuesday 12th July.   Circular Quay to Rushcutters Bay then by bus to Watsons Bay.  The walk will take us around the harbour, past Mrs. Maquarie’s Chair and along Mrs. Maquarie’s Bushland Walk.  We continue to Wooloomooloo and past the Kuttabul base.  After negotiating a steep hill to Kings Cross and Elizabeth Bay House, we walk to Rushcutters Bay.  From there we will catch a bus to Watsons Bay for lunch.  Easy walking with one long hill to negotiate.  MEET:  At Circular Quay Wharf 2 at 9:30am.

Probus Outings:  Tuesday 28th June:  Tramway Museum at Loftus.  We will be travelling south to Loftus, stopping along the shores of Botany Bay for morning tea.  The Sydney Tramway Museum is Australia’s oldest tramway museum and the largest in the Southern Hemisphere; our tour includes a half hour ride on a tram!  We have booked for 20 people at a cost of $12 each, which is a total of $240.  If we do not have 20 people then we will each have to pay a little more.  Please note that this facility has been made available for us on a day that it is normally closed, and it is staffed by volunteers.  The bus will depart at 9:00am.  Lunch will be at Engadine RSL.

Tuesday 26th July:  We have a tour booked at the Opera House.  We need to check in on the lower concourse at 10:30am for a 10:45 start.  Meet outside Wharf 2 at 10:00am.

Note:  All our Probus meetings are generally held on the third Tuesday of every month.  The next meeting will be held on 19th July 2016.  The committee meetings are conducted in the Northbridge Golf Club, usually on the first Tuesday of the month.  Members are welcome to observe.
