This is my last newsletter and brings to a conclusion my year as President of this Club. It has been enjoyable and personally satisfying. I have had invaluable support from my fellow committee members and others, who have all worked hard for the benefit of all our Club members. I trust the person who follows me in this role will find it equally fulfilling.
I welcome all our new members over this last twelve months, and regret the losses we have experienced.
Today we will elect a new committee, and some new faces will emerge into new roles. Be assured the new committee will continue to keep our Club moving forward.
I would like to thank all our members for their support during this year, in particular my fellow committee members. Great walks with Oriel, wonderful speakers organised by Douglas, great outings arranged by Evelyn. Willemina, Eleanor and Shelagh keeping a watchful eye on membership. Susan our very effective treasurer (our finances are in great shape) and of course Clive our guiding light as secretary. Many thanks also to Ian, Polly and John for their ongoing input to club/committee activities.
One of the year’s highlights was the trip to Tasmania. Well done to Susan and her team. All the activities worked out extremely well, in particular the dinner at the Hobart Yacht Club in Sandy Point. I was extremely pleased to be present among great company.
Our last walk over the Anzac Bridge, through Jubilee Park and around the Glebe foreshore with beautiful Harbour views, was enjoyed by all. Storms were predicted, but they luckily held off and we even had patches of sunshine. Also, we had a great lunch at the Sydney Fish Markets.

Coach Captain Steve was driving a Seniors trip when he is tapped on the shoulder and offered some peanuts.
A little while later he is offered some more.
A little while later he is offered still more.
A little while later he is offered even more.
Steve asks, “Why don’t you eat the peanuts yourself?”
“We can’t because we have no teeeff.”
“Then why on earth did you buy them?”
The old lady replied, “We just love the chocolate coating.”
