From the President:
Firstly, it was a pleasure to us all to be able to welcome Shelagh K back after her long absence. Unfortunately, on the same day, the Committee received a very nice letter from Syd and Janet B thanking everyone for the camaraderie they have shared at North Sydney Probus, and advising they were no longer able to continue their membership.
As most of you may be aware, you have been landed with a ‘part time President’ this year, as it is time for Gillian and me to wend our way to England to catch up with our son and family during the northern summer (if we’re lucky enough to get one). The main difference between the Wales’ northward migration and the Whales’ northward migration is we travel by air and they by sea!
I am very grateful to our Committee for arranging deputation over the next few months and Gillian and I look forward to seeing you all again in the Spring.
Membership Report: With the resignation of Syd and Janet B last month, our membership now stands at 55, (34 women and 21 men).
Many Happy Returns of the Day for Your June Birthday:
Judy C 06, Sally J 06, Ivan B 08, Judy M 10, Janice G 16, Ches W 21.
Program of Activities
Guest Speaker: Today we welcome Cindy Davies, whose topic is entitled
“Iran Past and Present.”
Probus Walkers: Tuesday 10th July 2018. Warriewood Wetlands.
These wetlands are recognized as one of the largest remaining stands of
Swamp Forest Complex in Sydney, where Heath Leaved Paperbarks and Swamp Mahogany grow. Also many species of birds inhabit the wetlands including whip birds, wrens, finches and green parrots. The walk is classed as easy, although there are a few bush steps when we visit the waterfall.
Approx. 4 klms. On our return to Warriewood we can catch the bus to The Mosman Hotel for lunch.
MEET: 9:00am Carrington Street, Wynyard Bus stand C for the 9:15am B-Line bus to Warriewood.

Note: All our Probus meetings are generally held on the third Tuesday of every month at 10:15am. The next meeting will be held on the 17th of July 2018. The committee meetings are conducted in the Northbridge Golf Club at 9:00am on the same day as the meeting. Members are welcome to attend.
